Newcomer Survey Overview
The PRAN African Newcomer Survey was an online and paper survey, developed with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and PRAN partners.
The survey was carried out in Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax between April 2024 and March 2025.
The survey covered topics related to social networks and community support, well-being, individual and family negative (e.g. racism) and positive experiences, resilience, and challenges.
Our Thanks
We extend a heartfelt thank you to all participants, organizations, community leaders, and partners for their engagement and support of the PRAN survey. It is only with you that this research is possible and has an impact!
Next Steps
Until then, we are excited to share the first PRAN Survey Briefs. There are five briefs in total—one for each city, plus a second one in French for Montréal. The city briefs offer a “snapshot” of who participated in the PRAN survey from each city compared to the 2021 Canadian Census.
